There's the Jersey Shore: We won't say we're going to the beach, we're going "down the shore", and not even "to the shore." Why? Dunno, it's the way we've said it for years here. And The Jersey Shore includes about 127 miles of Atlantic shoreline. That's not bad considering the state is only 166 miles from High Point in one corner to Cape May, in the opposite corner. We've got more than 800 lakes, 36 State Parks, 11 State Forests, and much much more. And of course: Lake Hopatcong in Sussex & Morris Counties. But back to The Jersey Shore.

Along the coast we've got from Sandy Hook to Cape May, we've got beaches, bays, seaside communities like Belmar, Point Pleasant, Asbury Park (home of The Stone Pony, where Bruce Springsteen and the E Street is famous for starting out. Then there's Long Branch, Ocean Grove, Sandy Hook, where Captain Kidd, gotta love those pirates (and I don't mean the ones from Pittsburgh, or is that Pigsburgh?) is rumored to have buried some of his treasures! Seaside Heights has always been a favorite, as has Wildwood, and, of course, Atlantic City, where you can go gambling in any one of many new casinos! If you're interested in how much the casinos are raking in, check this out!

Here'a promo film about Seaside Heights in 1960 (before bikinis, of course.)

What if you're a Beachcomber?

There's great fishing off New Jersey's coast and in its many waterways. There is both salt water fishing and fresh water fishing!

For you winter sports enthusiasts, yes there's skiing!! It may not be the Rockies or the Alps, but it's ours and it's fun!! Try Mountain Creek, Hidden Valley, Campgaw, High Point Cross Country.

Like to play Golf? We've got lots of Golf Courses!

"When you're in Atlantic City also be sure to check out one of the great Atlantic City shows or headliners that perform daily."
